BORN CAMEROON DESIGNER “PYROMANIAC BY MP” LAUNCHES NEW LINE “BE WEAR”

“Pyromaniac by MP” is a contemporary ready to wear clothing line based in Montreal. A mixture of vintage trends with an underground multi-cultural aesthetic typical of the city’s high streets. “Pyromaniac by MP” design is for the confident woman who knows how to turn her flaws into her most beautiful assets. The designer aims to dress women of every age, shape, height and colour who appreciate high quality designs, she loves bright colors and prints, and simply want to look beautifully unique. Having travelled the globe and in addition to her African heritage, the designer is influenced and inspired by her culture, which shows clearly in her latest collections. She is also a huge vintage clothing fan, which she has added a touch of chiq and timeless pieces that can easily be incorporated to any current wardrobe, season after season!

For her debut collection “Be Wear”, the designer was inspired by the pin-up look of the 50s with the defined bust and cinched waist line. The collection consists of an eclectic mix of tops, skirts, shorts, jackets, dresses and hand made accessories that offers exquisite detail and versatility so you can mix them up and wear them time and time again. Her aim was to present a feminine look that really stood out by using a bold color palette and adding wild African prints to bring out hints of her cultural background. The collection simply celebrates the Haute fusion of timeless style and African glamour. She states that “From the day her “Pyromaniac by MP” journey started, it has been a great adventure full of wonderful surprises (some less wonderful I admit)”.

About The Designer

A young design enthusiast born and raised in Cameroon (central Africa). She moved to Paris after high school and lived there for 4 years, then moved to Vancouver for another 4 years and now currently work and live in Montreal. During her years of fashion school in Paris she had the opportunity to work for a couple of fashion houses and got to realize that in fact fashion really is 20% design and 80% business. She then decided to move to Vancouver to complete a degree in Business Management and finally ended up in Montreal 4 years later in the hopes of pursuing her passion and dream. Today her dream is alive and is called ”Pyromaniac by MP“.

"SEXY,SASSY AND SENSATIONAL"IT'S AFROSHIC

How did you develop your interest in fashion? We don’t get much African fashion in Europe, so is it difficult to work in fashion there and what generally people look for to be glamourous?
I loved fashion since I was a kid, but no one realised it at first. Then when I grew up I started mixing a lot of colours in my way of dressing, according to my moods. At the young age of 21 I finally met with designers like Kirette Couture who made me realise this is my passion and I should bring it to life, so that was how it started. Fashion in my country is not so well known, and African fashion in general is know by few because we are still climbing the ladder of the tower of fashion.
-Yvonne,i loved fashion from birth and i do help people out to design their outfits for occational bases,i do style peoples hair and give them ideas on how to go about their looks for occations. When i met Reneta for the first time,i spoke to her about my interest for fashion so she decided to let me in.She told me we could do things together as partners and so we started with the name for the brand.
What people look for in African fashion is the way the fashion designers bring out their style and designs. They generally like styles which are out of the ordinary, but it should be chic and really wearable.
- Can you tell us a little about Afroshic clothing, the designers, the style and what is peculiar about it? What kind of woman wears Afroshic clothing?
Afroshic is a young fashion line, created by Reneta Ndisang and Efon Yvonne. The “S” in the name Afroshic means the sexy, sassy and sensational look typical of the brand. Afroshic makes every woman simple in her style but at the same time a little out of the ordinary. What is peculiar about the brand are the colours and the fact that we use the ankara or African fabric and blend with other fabrics to bring out it’s unique style wearable everyday.

- How do you design clothes, where do you get ideas and inspiration?
Arts as we know is all about creativity…So how I get my inspiration differs, sometimes I have to
think beyond my real self to get what it takes to bring out a dress. I love the Victorian age as well, and I also get my inspiration from watching fashion tv…etc.

THis girls them no di joke at all...Girls if i were you i will pick my phone or get to facebook and get maself some of their sexy outfits and be shic in it
